Alan Berryman (professor at Washington State University in the 1960s who studied host relationships of Scolytus ventralis and Dendroctonus ponderosae and cooperated with Erik Christiansen on similar studies of Ips typographus in Norway), Ronald Stark (1922-2002) (supervisor of Alan at UC Berkeley, came there from Canada in 1958, accepted position as graduate dean/coordinator of research at the University of Idaho where he was also a professor in the College of Forestry), Malcolm Furniss (studied forestry at UC, hired by Paul Keen in 1950, came to Moscow, Idaho with the Forest Service when the Forestry Sciences Lab opened in 1963), Dec. 29, 1985.
