International seed pathologist visits FABI
Prof. Lindsey du Toit from the Department of Plant Pathology, Washington State University, USA, visited Prof. Teresa Coutinho and her Phytobacteriology research group this week. Prof. du Toit is an internationally recognised seed pathologist focusing on vegetable seed crops. She is co-advising a PhD student, Valery Moloto , on seedborne bacterial pathogens of onions in South Africa. Prof. du Toit is the American Phytopathological Society (APS) counselor-at-large and had discussions with Prof. Coutinho about her involvement in the APS Office of Education.
