Dennis learned the basics of single-spore isolation, fungal culturing and DNA analysis as part of the RSA-Kenya bilateral project between Prof. Dave Berger and Prof. Mathews Dida of Maseno University on the molecular breeding of resistance to grey leaf spot disease in maize.
