FABI congratulates Jeanne Korsman who presented her prestige seminar entitled "Molecular responses of maize to its foliar pathogen, Cercospora zeina " and passed the oral examination afterward. Her research project focused on the interaction of maize plants with the fungal pathogen that causes grey leaf spot disease. Jeanne identified a number of genes that could a play a role in the resistance of maize plants to the fungus. Jeanne’s supervisors were Prof. Dave Berger and Dr Bridget Crampton . Her external examiner, Prof. David Collinge from the Department of Plant and Environmental Science at the University of Copenhagen, presented a seminar on June 30 .
