The Hans Merensky Chair in Avocado Research, hosted its annual Student Research Day as a hybrid meeting on 5 October. The research programme has grown to become the biggest avocado research group focussed on pests and pathogens in the world with numerous international collaborators. Research leader Prof. Noëlani van den Berg along with the postdoctoral Fellows, MSc and PhD students in her group presented the groups research findings to the Hans Merensky Foundation Trustees. Professor Mike Wingfield and Chris Pienaar attended in person while the remaining Trustees joined the meeting online.
