CoViD regulations have precluded the National Research Foundation (NRF) from holding their normal gala dinner and awards event during 2020 and 2021. Consequently, smaller events such as one held on the campus of the University of Pretoria on Monday 28 February have been organised instead. This event, hosted by NRF CEO Dr Fulufhelo Nelwamondo, specifically honored University of Pretoria academics receiving the President’s Award (P-rating) and A-ratings during the 2021 rating cycle.  These included FABI Proff Brenda Wingfield (A-rating) and Steven Hussey (P-rating).  Steven was not able to attend the event and his prestigious award was received by FABI team member Prof. Eschar Mizrachi. The event was chaired by Prof. Carolina Koornhof (UP Executive Director Finance and Business Initiatives), and attended by top executives of the NRF and the University of Pretoria including Vice Chancellor Prof. Tawana Kupe. FABI retains its exceptional position of having all its academic staff with NRF Ratings including three As, seven Bs, 13 Cs, three Ps and eight Ys.
