FABIans Dr David Nsibo, and Marné van Butzelaar (MSc student) from the Cereal Pathology Research (CPR) and Molecular Plant Pathogen Interaction (MPPI) groups together with Alicia Fick (PhD Student), and Aaron Harvey (MSc student) from the Avocado Research Program, recently had an opportunity to attend the XX International Plant Protection Congress, which took place from 1-5 July in Athens, Greece. The program included 11 keynote-plenary presentations, 550 oral presentations, and 200 posters from over 700 scientists from nearly 60 countries, under the theme “Healthy Plants Support Human Welfare.” This Congress was an excellent opportunity for FABIans to showcase the high-impact research FABI does, as well as to network with other participants, deepen collaborations, and engage with members from across the global agricultural sector, including researchers, policymakers and chemical companies such as Corteva Agriscience, EVYP Crop Biostimulation Technologies, Syngenta, and BASF. Such meetings are crucial for facilitating the rapid exchange of new scientific findings and techniques among researchers.
