The iconic Two Oceans Marathon once again delivered breathtaking views and fierce competition as thousands of runners took on the 56km ultra marathon route. Among the finishers were the two proud FABIans – Steven Shange and Josias Letaoana.

For both Steven and Josias, this was a debut appearance at the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon, and a memorable one at that. Steven crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 4:14:24, closely followed by Josias at 4:15:53. This race marked Josias’ first-ever ultra marathon, making his performance especially noteworthy.

Speaking after the race, both athletes expressed excitement and gratitude for the experience, noting the challenge of the course, especially the second half of the race (Chapmans Peak and Constantia Nek). And the incredible support from fellow runners and spectators alike.

The journey does not end here for the duo. With Two Oceans now under their belts, Steven and Josias are setting their sights on an even bigger goal: the Comrades Marathon 2025, taking place on 8 June . This year’s Comrades will follow the down run route from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, a gruelling 87km test of endurance, heart, and determination.

FABI and the entire running community will be cheering on these two FABIans as they continue to chase greatness on South Africa’s toughest roads.
