Congratulations to Dr Tanay Bose on receiving his Y1 rating from the NRF. Tanay completed his PhD at FABI in 2018 and is currently a Research Fellow in the Tree Protection Co-operative Programme (TPCP) at FABI, where his primary research focuses on plant pathology, microbial diversity, and Phytophthora. In addition to his research, Tanay supervises Honours, MSc, and PhD students and also lectures at the undergraduate level.

This is a significant milestone for Tanay in his academic career path as a young researcher. A Y-rating recognises young researchers under 40 years of age who have held a PhD for less than five years at the time of application and who are recognised as having the potential to establish themselves as researchers of considerable standing within their field within a five-year period after evaluation, based on their performance and productivity of quality research outputs during their doctoral studies and/or early post-doctoral careers.
