Prof Mike Wingfield, Director of FABI and the TPCP, has this week been elected as the new president of IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations). This happened during the Third IUFRO Latin American Congress, currently happening in San Jose, Costa Rica. IUFRO represents more than 15 000 forestry scientists from more than 110 countries globally, and is one of the largest scientific organizations in existence.
