From 11-14 November the Entomological Society of America, the Entomological Society of Canada, and the Entomological Society of British Columbia held a joint meeting in Vancouver. The meeting was attended by over 3800 people, with 265 scientific sessions, 2430 oral and 569 poster presentations! Presenters were from 68 different countries. 

The meeting was attended by FABIan Prof Brett Hurley, who is currently on sabbatical in Canada. Brett gave a presentation titled “Global and regional patterns of spread of invasive insects on eucalypts”, co-authored by Prof Bernard Slippers and Dr Mesfin Gossa. The presentation was part of a session on invasive species. 

Also attending the meeting was Prof Jeff Garnas, previous academic and research leader at FABI, and current Assistant Professor at the University of New Hampshire and Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria.
