My Name is Ruth Nante, a PhD student in Bioinformatics.

I am currently studying the population genomics of D. pini. Dothistroma pini is a forest fungal pathogen responsible for Dothistroma needle blight disease. I am also comparing the 9 species of Lecanosticta at genome level.

For my masters, i was working with Prof Irene Barnes and Dr Alisa Postma. We compared the genomes of two forest fungal pathogens, Dothistroma septosporum and Dothistroma pini. These are two pini pathogens responsible for the notorious Dothistroma needle blight disease. It was exciting working with comparative genomics tools to investigate the variations between those two pathogens at genome level.
