I am an Entomologist interested in the climate change adaptation of insects both at individual and different trophic levels. I have a special interest in stored product entomology where I apply thermal biology concepts to develop temperature based physical control methods at low costs. A huge component of my work also focuses on integrated pest management (IPM) with special reference to small scale farming systems. I strive to identify compatible IPM components for different pest species and crops as safer alternatives to  synthetic pesticides. I envisage a pesticide free farming system in Africa for health communities and the environment; this aligns well with the modules that I teach in Applied Entomology, Integrated Pest Management and Insect Plant Interactions under the Department pf Zoology and Entomology, University of Pretoria. I am an affiliate of FABI where I contribute in pest management research and capacity building through student supervision.
