I completed my BSc Hons in 2024, which focused on Studying the diversity of thermophilic and heat-resistant fungi present in the soils of the Namaqua National Park.

I recently registered for an MSc under the supervision of Prof. Cobus Visagie, Dr Anne Pringle, Dr Neriman Yilmaz and Ms Nicole van Vuuren. My research project will characterise the fungal diversity found in soils collected across the Kruger National Park. This will be done using both a culture-dependent and culture-independent approach, and forms part of the South African Soil SurveY (SASSY) that expands this approach to the more than 100 provincial and national parks in South Africa.
