Title: Investigating the effect of cover crops in suppression of Phytophthora nicotianae and subsequent changes in the soil microbiome in citrus orchards in South Africa.
Objectives:
- Monitoring the suppressive effect of cover crop mixture at the developmental stages on Phytophthora nicotianae and citrus nematode densities in the soil.
- Quantify the P. nicotianae and nematode population densities.
- DNA extraction for the soil microbiome analyses.
- Determining the soil physical and chemical properties.
