I am currently an intern at the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI), where I am gaining experience in phytosanitation and biosecurity. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a focus on Plant Pathology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where my research was on the Isolation and Identification of Postharvest Pathogens Associated with Mushrooms. This gave me valuable hands-on experience in pathogen isolation and identification, as well as performing pathogenicity tests on fresh mushrooms using the isolated pathogens.

At FABI, I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge in plant health diagnostics, disease surveillance, and biosecurity. I am also interested in exploring grain research, particularly the challenges that plant diseases pose on industry productivity and quality. I am eager to learn from the opportunities FABI offers and contribute to the ongoing research while enhancing my skills in these areas.
