I am currently pursuing my BScHons in Microbiology under the supervision of Prof. Almuth Hammerbacher and the mentorship of ms Rosa Knoppersen. My research project focuses on the gut microbiome of a Eucalyptus pest, the Eucalyptus Snout beetle, where we work towards classifying microbial organisms in the beetle that play a role in detoxifying the volatiles released by the Eucalyptus tree.I am extremely excited about the amount of things I am going to learn from both this research project and my honours year as a whole.
