A group of 20 enthusiastic FABIans gathered on 16-17 August to attend a two-day Photoshop course organised by Prof. Cobus Visagie and presented by Marjan Vermaas of the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute (WI). Her visit forms part of the MSCA-Research and Innovation Staff Exchange project (Grant no. 101008129), with four other WI team members joining Prof. Pedro Crous on a four-week visit at FABI. The course focused specifically on how to professionally prepare photoplates for publication in journals but also included an introduction to using this complex software optimally. The course included several hands-on practical exercises that allowed participants to apply what they have learnt from Marjan’s coursework.
