FABI congratulates Jeanne Korsman who presented her prestige seminar entitled "Molecular responses of maize to its foliar pathogen, Cercospora zeina" and passed the oral examination afterward.

Her research project focused on the interaction of maize plants with the fungal pathogen that causes grey leaf spot disease.

Jeanne identified a number of genes that could a play a role in the resistance of maize plants to the fungus.

Jeanne’s supervisors were Prof. Dave Berger and Dr Bridget Crampton. Her external examiner, Prof. David Collinge from the Department of Plant and Environmental Science at the University of Copenhagen, presented a seminar on June 30.
