FABI handed out long service certificates to 25 staff members at the Monday morning meeting on 16 March. This recognises long service by contract staff members at the Institute and initiated by FABI Director Prof. Bernard Slippers as only permanent staff are currently recognised by long service awards at the University.  The group of recipients was quite large and the period of service varied as this is the first time this was being done. FABI administrative officer Helen Doman received a Gold Certificate for more than 20 years’ service.

Five years plus service: Wilton Boyi, Samantha Bush, Juanita Engelbrecht, Sandisiwe Jali, Joseph Khadile, Seonju Marincowitz, Celani Nkosi, Sophie Nyoni, Estie van Rensburg

Five year service: Morné Booij-Liewes, Onke Gayiya, L'Zanne Jansen van Rensburg
