I obtained a BSc. (Microbiology, Genetics) and a BSc. Hons. (Molecular & Cell Biology) from the University of Cape Town and an MSc. (Bioinformatics & Computational Biology) from Rhodes University. I have a background in antibiotic resistance and HIV drug resistance research. I have a keen interest in the molecular origins of resistance and the molecular basis for the host-pathogen/host-pest evolutionary arms race.
