I am currently a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Prof Almuth Hammerbach. I studided at the University of Pretoria with a undergraduate degree in Microbiology and a PhD degree in Medical Microbiology. During my undergraduate studies I was part of the CTHB mentorship program at FABI. To date, my research has mostly been in the human health field (with some experience within the veterinary field), with a focus on bacteria in respiratory diseases. The research included microbiome and virome studies as well as molecular typing of important pathogens.
