FABI was prominent at AgriCAREERSConnect, an interactive careers fair at the University of Pretoria’s Future Africa Campus on 5 September. Representing the CTHB Outreach Team were Juanita Avontuur, Modjadji Makwela, Sthembiso Mngadiand Fezile Mthunzi. 

The aim of the event was to make students and graduates aware of the various career opportunities in the agricultural industry. FABI and Future Africa Director Professor Bernard Slippers also presented on the use of biotechnology in plant health. Students at FABI attended throughout the day and enquired at the various stalls scattered over the campus. Three FABI alumni representing their respective employers also exhibited. PhD graduate Magdeleen Cilliers represented the South African National Seed Organisation (SANSOR), while MSc graduate Esna du Plessis represented Sakata Seed and Miekie Human exhibited on behalf of GrainSA.
