Celebrating a student’s first publication is a tradition in the Tree Protection Co-operative Programme (TPCP) in FABI and on 5 December members gathered to mark this highlight in the careers of MSc students Ginna Granados and Wilma Nel and PhD candidates Tanay Bose, Felix Fru, JieQiong Li and Mmatshepho Phasha. FABI Director Prof. Mike Wingfield spoke of the hard work and effort that goes into publishing a paper. Publishing high quality research in peer-reviewed ISI-rated journals is one of the cornerstones on which FABI is built and the Institute can pride itself on the strong publication record it maintains.
