I am from Cali, Colombia. I grew up in an agricultural environment, I used to help my parents with the basic activities of crops and orchards but I also enjoyed caring for my ornamental plants for that reason I decided to study agronomic engineering (agriculture) at the National University of Colombia, Palmira Headquarters. I became an Agronomic Engineer in May 2019.

In June 2019, I got the opportunity to work with Dr. Carlos Rodas in the Forest Health Protection Program of Smurfitkappa Colombia (SKCC). I learned a lot about Forestry plantations during my time working there and it also encouraged me to continue studying.

I joined FABI in October 2022, I have been working with species of  Ceratocystis;

The first research chapter is focused on the identification of a novel species of Ceratocystis that is causing severe damage to cassava plantations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The other chapter is focused on a genetic population study in Ceratocystis manginecans isolates from Indonesia.
